The early Wheatear season has been dogged by uncooperative birds. Where I am, they are not. Where they are, I am not. Occasionally the Venn diagram of fate allows us some brief seconds together...

A couple from the last week
A couple of photos from the last week, it hardly constitutes a weekly highlights title but here they are...
This little critter is elusive. He is easy enough to find because he doesn't shut up. But he is camera shy. But I am patient...

Hare, eventually
Went out on Saturday. Came across a field with some Hares in it. Got camera out. Realised that I took the wrong battery out earlier in the day. Didn't take any photos. Swore a bit.
Went out on Sunday. Came across a familiar field with some Hares in it. Got camera out. Took some photos. Didn't swear.
There, I managed to post a whole post about Hares without quoting Michael Elphick. Although it was very difficult.

Norwich Starling Murmuration
As far as I know, and I'm happy to be corrected, this winter's Starling murmuration in the centre of Norwich is finished. Hopefull they'll return next year as it was a magical spectacle which enthralled birders and non-birders alike. There were too few to be able to muster themselves into any of the shapes that are seen in the larger murmurations, but that didn't detract from the event in any way.
Here are a few of the images I took over the course of the weeks.
