Went to
Sculthorpe Moor the other day to see Bullfinches, and did so. The supporting cast was pretty good with my personal highlight watching a Sparrowhawk hone into view before scattering all at the feeding station. Natural inclination was to say rude words loudly, but I contained myself for the sake of the sensitive ears in the hide. Hides are not my favoured environment, they are strange places full of people who know much more than you.
Sculthorpe Moor (run by the wonderful
Hawk and Owl Trust) is a cracking little reserve, well worth a visit.
The light was rubbish, but Bullfinches are not.
